PART II

(1) The persons entitled to vote at an election

of a councillor shall be the persons entitled, by virtue of

the provisions of the Municipal Eleotors Ordinance, 194

to vote at that election.

(2) No person shall be entitled to vote more than once

for any electoral division or ward, or to vote for more than

one electoral division or ward: Provided that a person who is

registered as an elector for more than one such electoral

division or ward, may vote in any such electoral division or

ward for which he is so registered at an election to fill a

casual vacancy.

(3) At an election of councillors for the whole

Kíunicipality under the provisions of section 13(2) every

elector may give one vote and no more for each candidate:

Provided that the total number of votes which he may give may

equal but shall not exceed the number of councillors to be

elected.

16. The Council may divide the fumicipality or any

electoral division or ward thereof into polling districts and

may alter any polling district.

(1) The Council shall appoint a person to be the

returning officer, and if at an election of a councillor the

office of returning officer is vacant, or the returning officer

is for any reason unable to act, the Chairman of the Council

shall forthwith appoint another person to be the returning

officer at that election.

(2) The Council, or the Chairman of the Council, as the

case may be, may appoint the clerk of the Council to be

returning officer.

18. Subject to the provisions of this Part of this

Ordinance, an election of a councillor shall be conducted in

accordance with the provisions of the Third Schedule to this

Ordinance.
